14000 feet ...woohoo !

SKY DIVE? Ask anyone who's done it...
They're all smiles and still excited years later.
I know I am. Real Adventures
Amazing adrenalin rush ...
An occasion you'll relive time and again - for years!
My tape of the event has been played repeatedly -
no visitor gets away without being invited to sit and share the most stimulating 15 minutes of video footage that I own.
So far, I've taken just one big leap into the great unknown.
Events from more than a year ago are however, an experience most vividly etched in memory.

Fond memories about that one special Sunday I arranged to go Sky Diving.
Totally at ease I remember. Not an ounce of Nervousness... Truly!!!
Surprised me - Prospect of falling from our roof finds me clinging to knotted safety rope stashed there years ago.
(Amuses wife. She giggles; Bravely continues lopping overhanging branches...)

But knowing how well equipped and careful are these professional Skydivers, convinces me - securely harnessed to someone a whole lot younger, that He has more Life at stake than I stand to lose...

And so we ascend. Slow climb to some 14000 feet; Then back down again, rocketing earthwards, limbs outstretched, this sixty year old endeavouring to take in every precious moment of the first amazing 54 seconds;
The view, the unbelievable whoosh of air, incredible noise, the absolute fun of it all ... plummeting at breakneck speed - suddenly terminated with that jolt of chute deployment and now, by contrast, hanging suspended, until feather-like we lightly touch down some 5 minutes later.

Ahh man! Sure beats anything life ever presented to me in the way of total excitement and sheer exhilaration, I can tell you!

For 50 odd years I played it safe (we musicians need good straight fingers) avoiding spills, dangers and any prospect of personal injury.
Never broke any bones! Spent no time at all in hospitals...

Concerned about safety aspects however, did some research into casualties. But the record's impressive and Tandem Jumps seldom figured in the statistics published.

why not give Sky Diving a go?

I'm old enough to be happy with the memory of something I did more than a year ago.
I'd sure hate to muddle though life however, without having experienced, at least once, the most fascinating jump for joy you can perform.

And look ...
Absolutely No Experience or Training Needed.

Having spent most of the day with those who organized the jumps, I could observe their expertise, attention to detail, the careful checking undertaken by a highly professional crew preparing for each skydive.
They jumped repeatedly throughout the day. It's by catering to passengers, these jump masters are able to fund their pursuit of excellence.
For themselves, it's quite an expensive sporting interest.

On this occasion they were booked out. Seems they make good money doing what they love: Not a cheap day out - but I paid a similar amount, simply to be a passenger in a V8 race car.
LOVED that too, of course... but it doesn't compare with the Great experience of all time - SKYDIVING. You can't beat THIS for Thrills !!!!
