You're in Victoria, Australia?
Me too ! And yet a mere 10% of our piano enquiries are local.
So if you live elsewhere, that's quite OK.
Do Read on ... just make believe it's your city I'm talking about; We'll help you too!
When hunting around for pianos, one very soon becomes aware it's a BIG country.
So you decided to look for a Good piano around Melbourne, in surface area one of the world's largest cities?
You soon realised you don't really know what to "look for".
You wouldn't know what to look "at"...
Or how to get at it - even if you could find "it"
Aunt Myrtle's come along for the ride - well she used to play the paino and she might be able to help.
You instantly spotted the difference between their beer stein and the Bechstein,
but You can't play and wouldn't have a clue how to test drive the latter!
Combed thru the adverts * - spent weekends driving from A to B to Z...
And still ended up with a "lemon" ...
Coz Aunty M didn't actually know much about "bridges", or "key dip", or how you check the "backchecks" -
and what happens if the "spoons" are bent?
You know - it didn't have to be that way.
Ol' Pianoman's Finder service could have eliminated the guesswork, the frustration, the headaches, the uncertainty in buying a Piano.
WHAT ? You haven't BOUGHT yet ? You'd like me to find a piano FOR YOU ?
Now that's a very smart move !
A UNIQUE SERVICE . . . How does it work?
For AUSTRALIAN piano buyers, your piano man operates within the Melbourne piano market -
which for some reason, is generally cheaper and more diverse than elsewhere.
Being online for 8 years however, means PianoAdvisory.com has become quite well known to piano folk everywhere - we're not just a local "piano finder" service !
For your $150 fee - what do you get ? Let's imagine you're a Melbourne resident considering purchasing one of the many privately owned pianos advertised locally. First we'll discuss your needs and your budget. OzPianoman commences his search; Makes the calls; Does the driving; Examines selected instruments, Plays and evaluates each one then reports his findings and recommendations back to you.
Now you may want to check them out personally and make your decision.
Your Piano expert will handle No money in any such transaction but can start 'negotiations' on your behalf. In the process, I will endeavour to save you something like the fee - or even more. Any savings are passed on to you.
Transportation can be arranged, tuning can be organized; OzPianoman's help is there for the asking and you'll end up owning an instrument that the family can "love".
Now honestly...might that not be worth $150 to you ???
For buyers from other regions, a range of other purchase options are available.
These will include special discounts from certain dealers capable of shipping pianos to just about anywhere - and piano merchants known by me to uphold particular standards when treating with OzPianoman contacts. Together we will aim to supply only the best. Distance is seldom a problem for my experienced friends in the trade whose policy is : "We Want Your Business !!!"
Please note: In those instances where travel is not involved, you may not be required to pay our finder fee ...
Note: One US author/piano 'expert' charges AU$200 per hour simply for Phone Advice giving information on New pianos only. You're asked to "Wait 2-3 days for a return phone call and have credit card ready".
Compare that against our Finder fee ... How do you think we rate ?
My little collection of piano videos ....
August 2007 - received a request for help from a man 3000 km away wanting "a good grand piano" for his wife, a talented player stuck with an "old banger" on their farm in outback Queensland.
My wife Christine has made some nice videos on her Nikon 5400 digital camera.
Having never used one myself, wondered if I might provide a meaningful piano comparison for someone who said: "Find us a piano; We'll leave it to You!"
Totally unrehearsed, this is far from professional quality footage. Hope to do better next time !
Video #2 : Leon - ex concert pianist here plays a snippet of some Schubert on a superb 1984 Yamaha 6'7" Model C5 grand piano ...
Brand New, you can pay $50,000 plus !
Found that you can't send videos by email (attachments too large) & had to learn how to put them on web pages. Added some great piano moments -
some amusing ones too ...
Includes celebrated pianists Horowitz and Arthur Rubenstein with full versions of Schubert pieces. Some historic piano performances that I'm pleased to be able to share with you. Thanks YouTube.com !
Incidentally, the piano buyers liked my videos & are awaiting delivery of their Yamaha C5.
Feel free to contact me personally if I can help in your search

There are however, obvious limits in respect of such expertise. "My opinions may not always conform with what you may hear from others; I don't know all things about numerous products; I may in fact know nothing at all about a particular type of piano selling in your neighbourhood ... and you might need to seek information elsewhere."
I sincerely hope you can benefit from your visit - you'll find references to Piano Tuning, Upright painos, Grand pianos, Antique pianos, Pianolas, Used pianos, New pianos, Digital pianos, other musical instruments, brand names such as Yamaha, Kawai, Steinbach, European, Japanese, Korean pianos and others, information about Piano Lessons, Piano tuners, selling, buying, music tuition including free piano lessons, free piano sheet music and more ...
